Student teams will have an opportunity to obtain further information on Avnet’s advertising requirements. Students should be ready to ask questions that will help refine what Avnet ‘really’ wants out of this spot. Students will also have the option to ask further questions via a blog site and will have a contact at Avnet that will field those questions.
Student teams will then have until November 13, 2009 to prepare the 30-sec spot using the technology of their choice and their marketing campaign plan for Avnet OnDemand. All entries and marketing plan must be submitted by 5PM Arizona time on November 13, 2009. Avnet will review the submitted entries and provide approval to proceed with the Avnet OnDemand Campaign by November 20, 2009. (Students will be notified if Avnet does not feel that the TV spot is suitable for the Avnet OnDemand campaign.)
The Avnet OnDemand Campaign will run from November 20 to December 18, 2009. Part A will be judged based on how well the TV spot meets Avnet’s needs, creativity of the spot, and the success of the Avnet OnDemand Campaign.
Part B: You Tube Marketing Campaign
All teams that received approval for the Avnet OnDemand campaign in ‘Part A’ will be eligible to participate in ‘Part B’ of this game.
In this part of the game student teams will develop and execute a YouTube marketing campaign. Avnet will post all TV spots for students participating in Part B of this event on YouTube. Students will develop a YouTube Marketing campaign and provide it to Avnet by Friday, January 29, 2010 5PM COB (close of business).
The YouTube marketing campaign will run from January 29 through March 7, 2009. The winning team will be judged based on their marketing plan document as well as measured effectiveness of their YouTube campaign.
