Win Scholarships! Earn Internships or Jobs!

Connect with Valley Tech Leaders!

You’ve studied and worked hard; now it’s time to show what you’ve learned!

One of the goals of the Avnet Tech Games is to provide local college, institute and university students with the opportunity to

  • demonstrate their knowledge and competency in selected fields.
  • exercise their team-building, decision-making and creative skills.
  • develop students for future leadership roles.
  • connect with local employers and showcase their talents and abilities.
  • obtain hands-on experience outside the classroom.

First-place team members for eight of the nine games will each win a $1,000 scholarship. The winning team for the Invent a Technical Product game will present to the Arizona Business Accelerator to possibly take their product to market.

Here’s what a few of our previous participants have to say:

“I signed up for the Avnet Tech Games assuming it was just another academic competition. In reality, they did much more than gauge my technical ability. To succeed, the Games demanded leadership, team work, innovation, and time management. Now that I am in the workforce, I have to use those critical skills every single day! I would strongly encourage any student who has the opportunity to participate in this unique event to do so.” – Cory Kincaid, 2006 Avnet Tech Games Student Participant.

“I went to the Tech Games …it was pretty cool, at least 500 people were competing in eight different events. I competed in two of them…I did win the Innovative/Fastest Computer competition! My system was the star attraction…it was lots of fun and was pretty cool to meet all the other system builders there.” – Quote from a student that participated in 2006 games – Maricopa Skill Center
